Dream log #005
Alien · Part I
A seven-minute electronic track, translated into thirty shots of a liquid-mirror figure crossing a brutalist world — by structure, not by feeling.
Boundless and bare, the lone and level sands stretch far away.
Process
Can data feel music?
An experiment in pure translation: Joachim Pastor’s “Millenium”, a seven-minute electronic track, turned into a thirty-part, 16:9 film whose visual architecture comes from the music’s structure rather than its mood.
Zero emotion, pure physics. An LLM mapped the rising arpeggios, sub-bass drops and breakdowns strictly onto visual weight, phase changes and material geometry — fluid against shattered — as a liquid-mirror figure meets the friction, gravity and isolation of a brutalist landscape.
Thirty prompts, one character. Text-to-video models read every prompt in a vacuum, so each of the thirty generations was written as a self-contained unit, restating the figure, the monochrome palette and the environment every time to keep the film continuous.
Best with headphones. Music: Joachim Pastor — “Millenium”. Scripted with an LLM, generated with text-to-video models.
